Sony KDL-55NX723 Review

The Bravia LCD range of television units by Sony, have an amazing range of features. Some of the models are basic no frills designs which make them affordable for most buyers. On the other end are the high-end models filled to the brim with more features than most buyers will ever need.
This review covers the Sony KDL55NX723, which is one of the feature filled models. This is one of the Internet TV models Sony is so proud to offer. This model supports Sony's own Bravia Internet Video portal plus buyers have the capability to stream content from other sources in their home.
The Bravia KDL55NX723 is the widest of the Bravia KDL models at 55 inch. There are also Bravia-KDL models at 40 inch and 46 inch.
If the no frills KDL-55NX723 model is too pricey there are less expensive NX713 models in 40 inch and 46 inch sizes. The specifications for the NX713 models are much less expensive. The price difference between the NX713 and NX723 models highlights the fact that the KDL55NX723 is not what anyone can call inexpensive. That fact fades out of view when a prospective customer gets to experience the styling and performance of the KDL55NX723.
In the NX723 models Sony continues use of the monolithic ultra modern design. The screen has a flush surface that has no bevel. The Sony stands that match the NX723 design have a built-in subwoofer. These models look good with any decor but they fit perfectly with minimalistic modern designed rooms.
The KDL-55NX723BU is so slim some wonder how it can function. Sony uses an OptiContrast LED panel to achieve the amazing depth of only 27mm. The frame around the screen is a bottomless shiny black that looks so good near the brushed metallic finish of the stand that comes with the unit. The point is, this unit stands out in any room and is noticed by anyone entering the room.
Better yet the Bravia KDL55NX723 is much more than just good looking. This model is the ultimate in connectivity. Some may find the downward or side facing connections problematic. Some cable adapters are used component input. It's a small price to pay for the amazingly thin depth of this model.
The Bravia KDL55NX723 has HDMI connection inputs, located, 2 each, on the side and bottom. These are for the optical digital output, PC input, Audio Return Point, Ethernet port and audio - headphone output.
Something extra nice is two USB ports. One of them is for use with portable HDD's. That allows recording from the tuner built in to the unit. The other USB is to be for other digital media storage units. A pay TV slot is also provided. A popular feature is access to the Sony Bravia Internet Video portal. The built in Wi-Fi makes getting online exceedingly simple.
The Bravia Internet Video portal is not available everywhere yet but for those with access there is an almost unlimited variety of content available; BBCiPlayer, Eurosport, SkyNews, YouTube and much more. Most set the package as the best content selection on any television.
For music lovers an unlimited music source from Qricity plus Facebook and Twitter apps for connection to social network time are much appreciated. That means there is no need to turn on the PC or laptop.
One feature expected to be very popular is the built in Skype ability. It is necessary to buy some auxiliary equipment to allow video calling without leaving the sofa or favourite television chair.
For an Internet browser the Bravia KDL-55NX723BU uses the Opera browser. Operationally there is no difference from being on your laptop or desktop PC after you get use to controlling the browser with the remote control. For some, this takes some time.

Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV Review

The Sony Bravia EX700 52-Inch LED TV gives you full 1080p High Definition. With stunning contrast and smooth high motion picture performance the Sony BRAVIA EX700-Series LED HDTV is an excellent LED TV.
It gives full Internet connectivity so you can control a vast variety of movies, TV shows, videos and music using apps like Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, and many more all at the touch of a button.
So, I was over the moon to hear that my friend Dave brought one, and even more delighted when he invited me round to take a look! Dave purchased his Sony Bravia EX700 52-Inch LED TV last week, so I just had to go round and see what he was making such a fuss about The first thing that I noticed was the gorgeously beautiful picture.
The colors are rich and sharp and the blacks demonstrate immense depth and naturally the LED HD makes everything so decisive and clean.
Dave put Sony Bravia EX700 up in his Family Room and he's got a really nice home theater set to compliment his LED TV and to really bring out the best from it! His Set-up includes Pioneer Elite SC-25 receiver, LG Blu-ray, Boston Acoustics center and surround sound speakers. It really is a top-notch set up and we watched Avatar which was a truly great viewing experience. The action sequences were lucid and fresh and the colors pulsating, it was without doubt superb.
After the viewing Dave took me through his views on the pros and cons of his new Sony Bravia LED HD TV.
Clearly he's completely delighted with the picture quality and clarity. He's upgraded from a Samsung 46 Inch LCD to the Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV. Hie definitely feels the picture is better although only by a small degree. I must admit I thought the difference was more "marked" with the new Bravia picture being distinctively better - opinions, eh?
I'm not sure exactly why I felt that, but despite the screen being that much bigger the colors just seemed to shine through more and the picture was just that little bit cleaner.

Sony is a company with a reputation for staying on the cutting edge of technology and delivering top quality products. In this 3D TV review, we'll have a look at the Sony KDL55NX810, a fifty-five inch LED-LCD 1080p 3D ready HDTV. The 240hz refresh rate of this 3D TV allows viewers to experience action sequences from movies and sporting events without any blur during transition. The crisp and vivid large screen transforms merely watching television into a unique experience.
Because the Sony KDL55NX810 is 3D ready, owners also need a 3D capable Blu-Ray player and 3D glasses to have a three dimensional experience. Sony offers adult sized 3D glasses like the battery operated TDGBR100/B for around $150 and the smaller child sized TDGBR50/L also battery operated for around $150. The glasses feature an automatic standby, which helps maximize battery life. The 3D effects produced by this particular Sony 3D HDTV rival and often surpass what many fans have experienced in theaters, which is a feat not easily accomplished.
The Sony KDL55NX810 features four HDMI inputs (two on the side and two on the back), one PC input, one composite video, a USB 2.0 port, and two component inputs. While the side ports are helpful to connect a smartphone or other device, only two HDMI ports on the back can be a little frustrating for potential buyers due to limited connectivity to several different devices. The Sony KDL55NX810 is also an Internet connectible unit, thanks to the inclusion of an Ethernet jack. Plus, the LightSensor technology automatically adjusts the picture to the lighting conditions of a given room to produce a cinema-like experience.
When connected to the Internet owners can experience the various content available on YouTube, Netflix, Pandora and more plus utilize social media web sites like Facebook and Flickr. All things considered, this particular Sony 3D TV delivers great images regardless of what is being watched, as well as access to a variety of Internet applications. The standard 2D picture delivers a true 1080p high-definition picture, and the three dimensional effects are vivid and realistic. This is a top quality television from a company that knows a thing or two about home entertainment.

Sony Bravia TV Review

The Sony Bravia LCD televisions offer superb technology, in a designer package. With the addition of DLNA and motion blur reducing technology, the new Sony LCD TV line allows a user interactivity and functionality that sets a new standard for LCD television usability. New models also feature high efficiency components that reduce energy consumption.
With the combination of an energy switch, presence sensor, and a new energy efficient backlight, the Sony LCD TV models use 50 percent less energy than standard sized LCD televisions. This reduction in power usage is not only good for the consumer's utility bill, but also good for the environment. The Sony Bravia not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions, by reducing energy consumption, there is also another way that Bravia LCD Televisions help the environment and clear the mess that normally surrounds a home theater system.
Wires are a common problem facing anyone that has a home theater system. This can be compounded when the TV is mounted on a wall and not enclosed in an entertainment cabinet. The new Sony Bravia LCD televisions have solved that problem by using wireless connectivity to eliminate wires connecting components to the TV. This technology is exclusive to the Bravia HD TV line-up and effectively eliminates the mess of wires, while still providing a high-quality picture.
The high quality picture offered by the Sony LCD TV line-up is due to an upgraded processor that increases contrast. To increase the picture quality even further, the Bravia LCD TVs utilize advanced color technologies that offer a broader color range, which provides for a more realistic picture. Providing a more realistic image is not the only way a Bravia LCD TV enhances a consumer's viewing experience.
Even with a realistic image on the screen, LCD TVs have had a common problem with motion blur. This is caused when one image has not fully been cleared from the screen before the next image is displayed. The Sony LCD televisions use a combination of motion flow technology and image blur reduction to provide a cleaner transition between images. This combination is vital to clean motion.
The motion flow technology more than doubles the amount of images shown per second. A standard LCD TV displays 50 images per second (50Hz), whereas a Bravia LCD TV display 100 images per second (100 Hz), this coupled with backlight clearing, provides the clearest motion of any LCD TV.
To make the most of the clear picture and clean motion, the Sony Bravia LCD televisions offer consumers the ability to interact more efficiently with the television. Sony's Applicast allows end users to customize a TV to view internet movies, RSS Feeds, and much more without the need to manual send the information from a computer.

Sony KDL-46EX524 Review

The Sony KDL-46EX524, a member in the Sony Bravia family and the largest of the new EX524 series. This seems to be one of the more value-conscious TV's that Sony is currently producing, with high quality screens and electronics at a reasonable price, making it a perfect buy for the mainstream consumer who isn't concerned with perfect studio-quality colouring or high-end aesthetics. The centralized multimedia functions, easy access to Wifi or Ethernet and Freeview HD, for this particular series is highly functional and desirable for anyone who wants set-top connectivity beyond that of their computer regardless of technological ability.
The two-tone gun-metal and glossy black bezels and large, smooth, 46 inch, matte screen are classic compliments to any home design and a style that Sony has been using regularly for the last couple of years and it appears very well built for the price. The LED on this model is extremely slim, being only about 3 cm in depth, this is mostly due to the lighted edges of the television as opposed to a back lit (or full array) style, with recent improvements in technology unevenness in color, due to the edge lighting, is very rarely an issue. The decreased environmental impact of the LED including it's decreased consumption of power and the ease of recycling the parts at the time of disposal makes this TV a very green choice. The factory standard swivel base is great for angling the screen in various directions depending on where the current viewer is seated and the standard size of the unit makes it easy to mount on the wall with a mounting kit however, because many of the connectors are on the back of the television this may limit their accessibility.
The remote control for for the Sony KDL-46EX524 is slightly curved with evenly spaced buttons that aren't overly close together, but is very pleasing visually and the dedicated media buttons help the consumer make use of the included media software. It requires two "A-A-A" batteries to operate. Pressing the home button on the remote control gives you the menus for access to settings and the incorporated media content. The menus are easy to read and intuitive to understand, appearing quickly along the bottom of the screen with a clean, modern look. For some menus you may need to cycle through options in order to find specific options that you are looking for. Picture-in-picture programming is very easy to use and even allows you to navigate menus while continuing to watch your current program.
The integrated streaming is an excellent addition to the features of this TV, instead of necessitating the purchase of additional hardware to make full use of the internet suite for people who want streaming productivity on their televisions. The Bravia Internet Video menu comes pre-programmed with streaming video selections such as Sony's Entertainment Television library of old TV series, health and fitness videos from Livestrong.com, YouTube, BBC iPlayer, Sky News headlines, Demand 5, Love Film, blip.tv and other popular web destinations. It also has the functionality of a full web browser so that you can visit any of your favorite sites right from the comfort of your couch. Non-streaming options are also available, such as Sony's Qriocity, a refreshingly new video on Demand service for both music and movies that lets you pick what to watch and when to watch it without worrying about monthly subscription fees and service charges. MoshCam which features live concerts filmed in Sydney's leading music venues will allow you to see your favorite musical acts from the comfort of your home, without the expensive ticket price. Finally, access to Facebook, Twitter and Skype, for making free calls via web cam (however the web cam is not included and would have to be connected via the USB) are all integrated into the platform to help round out its robust assortment of useful and interesting applications while helping the user keep in touch with family and friends through the use of voice and video from the comfort of the couch, in front of the television, in their own home.
